On Sunday, we checked out the Sydney Tea Festival, held at Carriageworks in Redfern. If you've ever checked out any events at Carriageworks, it just has the most stunning yet simple backdrop for any event. We rocked up around 12.30 after some minor delays (ahem...friends missed their train!) but we got there in the end, the crowds already in full swing.
We all purchased our little tea taster cups, which were super sweet (and super photogenic!) and then made our way around the many stalls and sampled all manner of teas.
We tried everything, from various takes on old favourites, like French Earl Grey (personal favourite for that is T-Totaler!) to new and unusual flavour combinations (there was one which tasted a little like seafood) and plenty of chai and chocolate tea in between!
I think my favourite new thing from the day would have to be the Carob Super Chai!
We also stocked up on some local honey thanks to the Urban Beehive! Looking forward to having honey that was actually made in Marrickville. That's some serious local eating right there...local bees!
And that was the Sydney Tea Festival for 2015. Be sure to check their website and follow them out on Instagram to stay in the loop!
