If you're all over Pinterest like us, then you've probably noticed an increase in the green topped cakes, doughnuts, ice cream and the like! And the best part is that it's not made of artficial colours or flavours. Nope, it's made from green tea! Matcha is the result of finely milling green tea!
Historically, matcha was used in Japanese tea ceremonies, and late went on to flavour and colour noodles, Japanese candy and green tea ice cream. Now, in the blogosphere, all the cool kids are doing it and getting quite experimental with matcha as an ingredient in drinks, cakes, biscuits and more! Loving the flavour fusions we're seeing!!
Here's just a few of our favourite recipes that we cannot wait to try!
1. Matcha Frappe
This delicious frappe uses green tea layered with coconut milk to create an incredible gradient that shows on the outside of the glass! Flaboured with a little nutmeg and vanilla bean, this recipe is totally worth checking out!
